How do I choose the right size for this black ratchet belt?
Order your trouser waist size. The strap is pre-trimmed to that measurement before shipping. The ratchet track adds about an inch of micro-adjustment in either direction. No holes means the fit isn't locked to fixed positions. Between sizes, order up.
What does the clean-edge finish mean for this belt's strap?
The edge finish. On a standard strap the leather edge is raw-cut. On this folded-edge version the leather is turned and finished along both edges, giving the strap a cleaner profile in the belt loop and a slightly more refined look. The leather itself is smooth top-grain in black.
What is the buckle on this clean-edge black leather belt?
A brushed silver plate buckle, wide, flat face with a satin finish. The HC logo is laser-engraved at the center. It detaches from the strap with a press of the release lever and can be swapped with any other HC 1.38-inch buckle, so the strap works with different hardware finishes.
How is the ratchet mechanism different from a standard belt buckle?
A standard buckle uses a prong that catches in one of five or six fixed holes. This automatic buckle has no prong, it grips the ratchet track inside the strap wherever you pull it tight, locking in place. To release, push the lever on the back. No holes means the leather stays intact along the full length.

How do I care for this leather ratchet belt?
Wipe the strap with a dry cloth after use. For marks or moisture, a barely damp cloth and air drying away from heat works well. Apply neutral leather conditioner once or twice a year, just a thin coat. The buckle mechanism stays in good shape with occasional dry cloth cleaning when you remove the strap.
