      Ratchet Belts for Men and Women: No Holes, Micro-Adjustable Fit

      A ratchet belt is a leather strap with a row of teeth hidden along the inside and a buckle that locks onto them. You pull the strap through to tighten it, and a press of the release lever lets it go. There are no holes, so the fit is not limited to one-inch steps. Every belt in this collection is unisex, cut to the waist size you order (30 to 42), and comes in two widths: a slim 1.15" dress belt and a 1.38" casual belt. The straps are top-grain cow leather in black, brown, dark brown, and red-brown, in smooth, croco-embossed, and stitched-edge finishes. The buckles are removable zinc alloy in silver, gunmetal, black, and blue-gray finishes. Whether you want a mens leather ratchet belt for the office, an adjustable belt for men for everyday wear, or a dress belt without holes, this collection covers it.

      How a Ratchet Belt Works

      The inside of the strap has a toothed track. The buckle contains a spring-loaded pawl that catches on those teeth and holds the belt at any point along the track, so you can set the fit in small steps instead of choosing between two holes. Pressing the release lever lifts the pawl and frees the strap. The result is a belt you can tighten after a long dinner, loosen when you sit down, and set exactly right without hunting for the correct hole.

      Slide Belts, Click Belts and Belts Without Holes

      Ratchet belts are sold under several names: slide belts, sliding belts, click belts, and adjustable belts for men. They all describe the same design, a strap with a toothed track and a buckle that locks it in place, so there are no holes to punch. That makes a ratchet slide belt equally at home as a no hole belt with jeans and a dress belt without holes with a suit. The buckle clicks as you tighten it, which is where the click belt name comes from.

      The 1.15" belts are slim dress belts that suit suits, dress trousers, and smart-casual outfits. The 1.38" belts are casual belts that suit jeans, chinos, and everyday trousers. A ratchet style belt also suits golf, where you adjust the fit between the first tee and the last green as you walk, sit in a cart, and swing. Buckles and straps swap freely within the same width, so a 1.15" buckle fits any 1.15" strap and a 1.38" buckle fits any 1.38" strap.       Sizes 30 to 42

      Our ratchet belts are made for waist sizes 30 to 42, and each belt is cut to the size you order. We do not currently make ratchet belts above size 42. If you are looking for a wider strap rather than a larger size, see our extra durable belts in 1.55".

      Ratchet Belts for Women

      These ratchet belts are unisex, so a ladies ratchet belt is simply one of the belts in this collection. The slim 1.15" dress belts are the closest match to women's trouser and dress proportions, and the 30 to 42 size range covers most women's waist sizes.       Care

      Keep the toothed track clean. Wipe the inside of the strap with a slightly damp cloth from time to time to remove lint and dust that can interfere with the buckle. Apply leather conditioner only to the outside of the strap and keep it off the track, since residue there can make the strap slip. Store the belt hanging or loosely coiled.
