The stitching runs along both edges of the strap, a visible construction detail that adds a formal character to the belt. Order your trouser waist size. The strap ships pre-trimmed. The ratchet track provides about one inch of micro-adjustment in either direction. No holes, the fit isn't restricted to fixed positions. Between sizes, go with the larger.
What does the stitching on this black leather belt do?

How does the ratchet mechanism work on this stitched belt?
The strap has a row of teeth inside, the ratchet track. The buckle locks at any position you pull it to. Press the lever to release. Quarter-inch increments throughout the strap length. This belt with ratchet gives you over thirty adjustment positions, far more than a traditional hole-punch belt.
