This buckle is made for 1.38 inch leather straps. Slide the strap through the bar until it rests flush against the frame with no gap. It is a direct fit for any Hedonist strap at that width, so there is nothing to trim or punch before you attach it.
It connects with a screw-post, not a ratchet track. Unscrew the two flathead screws, slip the buckle off the strap bar, and set the new one in its place before retightening. Since it is removable, you can swap it for another Hedonist buckle later without buying a new strap.
