This finish uses a raised metal frame around the buckle face with a washed, slightly uneven metallic tone underneath, giving it more depth than a flat plated surface. It runs on the same internal ratchet mechanism as the rest of the 1.38-inch lineup.
Yes, it accepts any Hedonist Chicago ratchet strap cut to 1.38 inches wide. The washed metallic tone leans toward antique brass, so it pairs naturally with worn-in brown or tan leather, and swapping straps later won't change how the buckle fits.
A zinc alloy body with a raised outer frame and a washed metallic finish that mutes the shine you'd get from a straight polish. The frame adds a bit of visual weight without changing the buckle's overall thickness or grip on the strap.
Flip the buckle over, release the clamp bar, and pull the current strap free. Insert the new 1.38-inch strap into the same slot and press the clamp closed until it clicks. The frame design doesn't change the swap process at all.
