Yes, any Hedonist Chicago ratchet strap cut to 1.38 inches wide will lock into this buckle. The two-tone finish pairs well with black leather for contrast or brown leather for a warmer overall look.
A zinc alloy body with a matte black coating on the main plate and a gold-tone plating along the trim. Both finishes are applied separately so the contrast stays sharp rather than blending into a single muddy tone.
Release the clamp on the back of the buckle, take out the old strap, and slide the new 1.38-inch strap into the same slot before closing the clamp. The two-tone finish has no bearing on the fit.
The gold trim sits on raised edges that see slightly more contact than the recessed black center, so it can show light wear a touch sooner. Wiping both surfaces down regularly keeps the contrast looking even longer.
Wipe both finishes with the same soft dry cloth, since harsh cleaners can affect the gold trim and black coating differently. Avoid polish made for solid gold jewelry, as it can strip the black finish around it.
