Yes, any Hedonist Chicago strap cut to a 1.38-inch width will lock into this buckle's track correctly. The matte black plate pairs cleanly with black, brown, or dark brown leather, since the finish is cosmetic and has no effect on how the latch engages. It is not built for our narrower 1.15-inch strap line.
The body is a zinc alloy casting, chosen for its weight and resistance to bending under daily wear. A matte black coating is applied over the metal, which hides fingerprints and light scratches far better than a polished surface. It suits business and casual outfits without ever looking flashy.
