- The leather has cracked or split near the buckle.
- The teeth or holes are worn and the belt no longer holds.
- You trimmed the strap too short.

What makes a good strap
Look for a stated leather grade, an even thickness, and clean edges. Our ratchet straps are top-grain leather. A thicker strap holds its shape better at the buckle fold; our extra durable belts guide covers the thicker option.
Cutting a strap to length
